Finding A Profitable Website Niche – Part 1

To become a successful blogger, you need to research a profitable niche website idea before you try to make a blog. Your goal should be to your blog in a way that you know that the niche, grave or at least a large chunk of that niche market. I call this “niche dominance.” This article is for the beginning of finding a profitable niche site explaining how to get started with your research.

choosing a niche market requires a lot of ideas, so if you do this for the first time it can be very time consuming and repetitive. Like all things, but it makes it easier the more you do it. There are also some good tools that are to your market research much easier that I write on my site. For the purposes of this article I use Google just to do my first market research.

Getting Started

So, what interests you? It is much easier to research things that interest you, so you have a pen and paper and write some of your favorite topics. Look around you, and they quickly walk around your office or home and find all the items that you noted.

To give you a quick example, I write this on my Dell PC. I have 2 LCD monitors to my PC via a dual-display graphics card. Also connected is my Microsoft trackball mouse, a wireless keyboard, a set of desktop speakers and a Skype video phone. I am also connected to the Internet with my broadband modem / router. Plugged into the front of my PC is a USB memory stick and a connecting my iPod to my iTunes library.

If my search and look around my home, there are hundreds of things I could be on my list. Many of these things are something that I may be interested, because at some point I bought it. If your e-mail address is usually found receipts and information about products and services you are interested you get the idea … there are many points in order that you could write so openly and do not normally something to get through some of the market. It is also important to remember that you really only need to show them first list once and only in it once in a while.

Make a list

Of all the items listed, you must create a list of which you want to research further. I use a spreadsheet like Microsoft Excel, to the article I want to do the research. I will create the table with the following columns:

Subject / Google results / Google Ads / All Title / All-in anchor

The purpose of the exercise is to find the next (and disposal) a product or topic that you already have a shortlist. Please also note that a niche can be anything on the subject (s) you have selected. In Part 2 of this article, I will the next steps of the research related to your chosen keyword (s), but first let’s use a real (and coincidentally) Example: Earlier

I listed a few things around my office, with my computer. From this list, I will use wireless keyboard for my example. I want to add this sentence to the “issue” column of my table. Next I will fill in the table, step-by-step, to see if the issue could be something good for my niche domination.

Step 1 – Check Google results

* Go to www.google.com and search the Internet for “Wireless Keyboard” (without the quotes).

* On the top right of the page I 16100000 Google results, which immediately tells me this is a very popular topic.

* Add the results to the “Google results” column in the table.

Step 2 – Check Google AdWords ads

On the same Google search results page from the step you will see, ” ; sponsored links from Google on the right side of the page. It is pay-per-click (PPC) ads for potential competitors. You need to count how many there are. If there is more than one screen to the value of ads, you must click on the link “View All” sponsored links “to all of them.

* If there are no ads, then the market is relatively undiscovered, or rather not viable because it is not much interest to advertisers.

* If there are many pages of ads (eg 4 +), then the market is very competitive.

For the search, I just, I have 10 Google adword results. Add this result to your “Google Ads” column.

Step 3 – Check Google “allinanchor:” The results

If you prefix your search with “allinanchor:” Then Google shows only the results with those of the keyword in a URL. To do this: * To

www.google.com and search the Internet for “allinanchor: wireless keyboard” (without quotation marks).

* On the upper right of the page, I 165,000 Google results.

* Add the results on the “allinanchor” column in the table.

Results from 165,000 initially tells me that this is way too high, that the word or a profitable niche. Basically you would need to beat 165,000 other sites associated with the phrase “Wireless Keyboard”. There is no need to worry at this point but we will advance keyword in Part 2 is much better rates (long tail keywords). For example, “allinanchor: wireless multimedia keyboard” brings back only 17,800 results. As a general rule, the lower the results the easier it is for you to know that the niche that the traffic there is to be covered.

Step 4 – Check Google “allintitle:” The results

If you prefix your search with “allintitle:” and then with Google only displays results when the keyword in the title of a page. To do this: * To

www.google.com and search the Internet for “allinanchor: wireless keyboard” (without quotation marks).

* On the upper right of the page, I 148,000 Google results.

* Add the results on the “allintitle” column in the table. 148000

again too high for me to check that keyword as the title of my blog, but “allintitle: wireless multimedia keyboard” brings me back 620 results, which is excellent!

already, I have an idea of the market that I ‘m considering the creation of blog for my company, with the idea of an income from pay-per-click advertising and affiliate links.

After this initial research for short-themes to be found, you will perhaps find that you already have a good idea of the topics you would like for your site niche domination . Everything you need to do now is some advanced keyword research for the themes you want to be in the detail. I will for this in Part 2
